Individual Product Reviews
The Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2 is extremely lightweight, has excellent ventilation, clever storage and an eco-friendly fabric. It’s snug for two, has delicate materials, no fly vent and has awkward vestibule zippers. It’s a brilliant ultralight tent for careful backpackers, but not for rough conditions or spacious camping.
The Wecshel Exogen 2 is sturdy, weather-resistant, spacious for a two-person tent and has a freestanding design. It does, however, have poor ventilation in hot weather, is slightly heavy for ultralight backpackers and the inner-first pitching can be tricky in rain. Overall, it’s a great tent for cooler climates, but not great for hot, humid conditions. It’s worth the price if it fits your needs.
The Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2 offers lightweight quality at a not unreasonable price. We don’t love its asymmetrical sleeping space, but it has loads of internal storage and other features that make this a very solid option.
The Heimplanet Fistral Classic is quick to set up and pack down and quite spacious, but it’s also quite heavy and wobbly. Overall, it’s an innovative approach to 2-person tents, but it does have its complications.
The Hilleberg Rogen 2 is extremely durable, spacious for two, has excellent weather protection and is well-ventilated. It is, however, expensive, has slight water pooling on roof and is not the lightest option. It’s a top-tier three-season tent for those who value longevity and performance over ultralight minimalism.
This 4-season tent with 2.7sqm of interior space fits two campers with a comfortable livable room. Its versatility means you can take it out for various activities, whether it's for summertime mountaineering or trekking. The lightweight fabric and double wall design do a good job of handling condensation.
The Hilleberg Nammatj 2 is a durable, wind-resistant and warm tent, perfect for all-season conditions. While expensive and only having a single vestibule, it has plenty of room for cooking, sleeping, storage and waiting inside during bad weather.
The Mont Helium 450 is durable, has good features and is warm and roomy. It’s expensive, though, and is not the most compact, plus, the hood adjustment could be simpler. It’s a well-rounded three-season sleeping bag.
The Sea to Summit Spark Pro -9 is lightweight, warm and features-heavy, but it’s also expensive and the lightweight fabric requires careful handling. It’s a top-tier sleeping bag that delivers on performance, comfort and durability.
The Rab Mythic Ultra 120 is lightweight and warm, but it’s less versatile than others and has a mummy shape and half-length zipper. It’s a sleeping bag for weight-conscious adventurers.
The Big Agnes Torchlight is roomy, adjustable, comfortable and has water-resistant down, but it’s slightly heavy for ‘ultralight,’ its zippers can snag and has awkard internal pocket placement. It’s a three-season sleeping bag for restless sleepers who want warmth without feeling confined.
The Sea to Summit Trek Down -9 is spacious, comfortable and adaptable, but it’s not ultralight or compact, it has minor down leakage, as well as a slightly fussy zipper system. It’s a great sleeping bag for car campers and moderate backpackers.
The Big Agnes Sidewinder SL 20 is perfect for side sleepers and is warm and roomy. It does see some down shedding, though, and it’s not for back sleepers. It’s a backpacking tent for cold conditions.
If you’re after a good looking, sturdy and transportable beach chair, the SUNNYLiFE Deluxe Beach Chair might be for you. While the wood may eventually start to rot in the elements, it’s a very comfortable chair to sit and recline in, albeit a little expensive.
The Homecall Aluminium Foldable Beach Chair has an adjustable seat and padded armrest, but it also has a low back, a front bar that digs in and it’s not durable. It’s a lightweight, sturdy, foldable chair
If you're specifically after a chair with built-in sunshade, then the GCI Outdoor Waterside Sunshade Backpack Beach Chair is worth a look. It folds down into a fairly compact size for storage, so as it fulfills the role of part beach chair part umbrella, it's not a bad option.
The Ostrich Deluxe 3-in-1 Beach Chair is a sturdy, comfortable and reclining beach chair that’s perfect for lounging in the sun, but it’s heavy.
The Solenny 4 Positions Beach Chair is made from ventilated material and has carrying handles. It only has an average load capacity, though, and has no headrest. It’s a simple, reclining beach chair.
The Kijaro Beach Sling Chair is comfortable and has good pockets, and is a great priced chair for what you get, however, the seat is quite low and the mesh is less durable than other materials.
The Tommy Bahama Backpack Beach Chair is a high-quality, good-looking and lightweight chair. While its backpack straps are a bit flimsy and the back of the chair is quite low, overall, it’s great for lounging with everything at hand.
The ALPS Mountaineering King Kong is a large, durable and comfortable chair that comes at the cost of being heavy. It’s a great all-around camping chair.
The Big Agnes Big Six Camp Chair is easy to carry, but it has no armrests or drink holders. While it’s a good chair, there are better ultralight options out there.
The GCI Outdoor Kickback Rocker Chair is sturdy and rocks but it’s slightly heavy and not the most compact. It’s a unique swinging camping chair.
The Yeti Trailhead Camp Chair is comfortable, sturdy and durable, but also expensive and heavy. It’s a luxurious and long-lasting chair.
