The Razor Kayaks X1 High-Pressure is a excellent kayak that performs well in the water. There is good storage space, it's easy to manoeuvre and great fun to paddle. The solid all Tech-Stitch (Razor Kayaks' proprietary engineered drop stitch) design and removable fin provide all the best elements of a traditional kayak. We had so much fun in this one that this is one of our top picks of the lot.

Performance (speed, tracking, manoeuvrability, stability, load handling): 10/10

Speed: This was probably one of the fastest of all the inflatable kayaks we tested.

Manoeuvrability: It's easy to manoeuvre, and handling was easy as well.

Stability: The firm walls and floor, combined with the removable fin design, gave it a strong, stable feel in the water.

Construction (materials, seams, valve quality, durability and fittings): 10/10

There has clearly been a lot of thought go into the construction of this kayak, and it shows. The full Tech-Stitch and 1000 denier PVC make it tough and provide a hard surface that glides through the water.

There is great storage space and plenty of room on board.

Setup/Pack Down (inflation time, valves, folding and drying): 9/10

Sets up and packs down quickly with 3 inflation points all close together. Given the PVC is strong enough to not need to be covered in other fabrics, it's also able to dry off quickly, which is a massive plus.

Portability (weight, packed size, ease of carrying): 8/10

Lightweight at 12.9kg, this is easy to get around and comes with a bag that has shoulder straps.

If we're being really picky, the bag is slightly oversized, though on the plus side that means there's room for pump, paddle and maybe even camping gear. If you're only carrying the kayak, you will need to fold the top of the bag over.

Comfort (seat support, legroom, fatigue over distance): 10/10

We loved the open cockpit, you're not jammed in and you get a bit of extra space for your gear. The solid frame provides a good surface to paddle against.

It has a good quality seat as well.
