The OP OESB Synth-5 sleeping bag is a quality Australian-made sleeping bag designed specifically for our conditions. Its synthetic materials means it’s easily machine washable, warm when damp and will stand the test of time. It’s uncommon to find a synthetic bag of this quality. This bag has been tested to ISO standards and the warmth ratings validated.

It’s built with comfortable materials, has good zippers and baffles, and all the features you’d want. It has slightly more bulk than some of its competitors but will still easily fit in the hiking backpack. For us the pros of this bag far outweigh the cons.

Comfort - This is a very comfortable bag, made of warm soft materials with a spacious feel. Great for multiday trips.

Construction - Australian-made, this bag is built from Vapour Vent V2 fabric and filled with multiple layers of thermally-bonded ‘Thermolink’ to maximise performance and comfort. We found the construction to be of a high quality and durable under our testing conditions.

Features - Good large square foot box, quality baffles, YKK zippers with anti snag, contoured hood, can be joined to a second bag (LH RH), hood and neck drawstring, built in pillow slip. Doesn’t have a zipper pocket for valuables etc. and only unzips to the ankle.

Size/ Weight - Packed size of 37x20cm and weight of 1.3kg. Packs to a reasonable size. Marginally heavier than the Tk3.

Versatility - This is a great all-round bag that we would be happy to own. Perfect for a comfortable night’s camping and small enough for multi-day hiking trips.

Overall - This is an excellent bag and great value for money.
