Our Analysis & Ratings
A tough and feature-rich kayak, the Aquaglide Blackfoot 160 DS Angler is ideal for fishing or paddling by yourself or with a companion. Due to its excellent performance, comfort, craftsmanship and all-around versatility, it's also among the best inflatable kayaks for recreational use.
Performance - The Blackfoot 160 performs admirably in both whitewater and surf, and it even has the construction and stability necessary for you to stand up thanks to the floor's traction cushion. Paddling in the wind or over long distances is effortless and tracking is easy thanks to the Posi-track Weedless fin attachment. You can reach faster speeds than other kayaks because of its length.
Construction - The Blackfoot 160 has strong drop-stitch flooring and high, DuratexTM-reinforced PVC walls. To prevent over- or under-inflating the kayak, it has a well-thought-out design with PSI levels next to the Halkey-Roberts Type Valves that are clearly marked, including attachment features such as velcro adjusters in the cockpit, webbing tie-downs, bungee cords and universal mounts on the floor and bow.
Setup/Pack down - Due to its size, the 160 takes a little longer to set up and inflate than other kayaks; with a hand pump, it takes about 10 minutes. Although it is quick and easy to deflate, it must be folded tightly to fit in the backpack. In order to drain the boat of water while on land, it also has a drainage system at the stern.
Portability - The Blackfoot 160 has a reasonable carry pack in the form of a backpack with a hipbelt. If the chairs are not attached, it can be carried by one person thanks to the two carry handles located in the middle of the cockpit. You could also check the pack in as luggage on an airplane and then easily carry it around with the padded waist belt and shoulder straps.
Comfort - The seats in the 160 can be adjusted so that you can sit in the kayak lower for more comfortable and stable paddling or higher for storage or fishing. The Razor R2 Ultra has been rated just below the Blackfoot 160 because the 160 has well-thought-out characteristics like the floor's diamond-cut traction padding. When standing up to cast while fishing, this cushioning enhances stability and offers a secure, non-slip surface for children and animals.
Overall - The Aquaglide Blackfoot 160 is a great inflatable fishing kayak for adventure, with excellent performance, adaptability and stability.
