Our Analysis & Ratings

The OA Hiker Pro is great value for money. With all the features of a high end tent but at almost half the price this is a great buy. Well constructed with quality materials, at 2.1kg it's still lightweight for a budget option and its compact packed size means it fits easily in the pack. Easy to setup and with good features overall we thought this was a fantastic tent.

Comfort - Slightly shorter and wider than most hiking tents, it has a spacious feel to it assisted by the crossbar providing good vertical walls.

Construction - This is a very well constructed tent, with a strong denier ripstop nylon fly, strong aluminium poles, good quality mesh inner and high quality waterproofing you typically find only on tents double the price.

Features - This tent has all the features you'd want in a good hiking tent. Double vestibules for storage, very simple single pole setup, storage pockets, extra ground sheet and good ventilation. The only downside we found here was only two internal pockets, one at each end, which is fewer than standard but on the whole didn’t hugely impact our experience of the tent.

Size/ Weight - Packed size of 48x15cm, weight of 2.1kg. This is a good compact tent weighing only slightly more than some of the high end brands.

Versatility - This is a durable tent that is suitable for short and long hiking trips or camping. We would happily add it to our hiking kit.

Overall - Great value allrounder.
